At the time, there was a lot going on in our lives, between work and family health issues, we chose to take a leap of faith and make the biggest move of our lives.
The number one reason for the change was the fact that my parents were needing more assistance with their daily lives. A lot of prayer went into the decision, and something Pastor Chris Johnson said to Karen and I made sense. He was, of course quoting the Bible, but it was good to hear it from such a wise and trusted friend. "Honor your Father and Mother so that you may live long in the land that God is giving to you". Chris told us that this wasn't a request from God, but that it was a commandment. That's not to say we couldn't honor them from Colorado, but they needed me and I needed to come home. Fortunately, I have the most loving and supportive wife in the universe and the decision became rather easy. So, with well wishes and a heavy dose of prayer, and a few tears, we said goodbye to our Loveland friends and headed east.
Now, as I sit here on February 10, 2014, my parents are still kicking and I'm still helping them.
